Marine aerosol is the governing failure driver here. It settles on condenser fins, on hinge hardware and on stainless panels, and it keeps working in the damp long after the breeze drops. Cleaning intervals on the beach have to be materially shorter than they are five miles inland.
Corrosion note: pitting on hinge pins and fastener heads usually shows up before any cooling complaint does.

Cubes were sticking together in one lump. He found the bin thermostat calling late for ice and a warm spot from a failed seal on the freezer door. He sorted both and left the bin cleaned out properly.

He found the coil clean but the airflow into the machine compartment blocked by cabinetry added long after the unit went in. Fair explanation, a bit of trim taken out, and the running temperature dropped.

We back onto the Intracoastal and the machine compartment never really dries out. He cleaned the coil, dried it properly, treated the fastener heads that had begun to bloom, and told us what to watch on the hinges.
